theres 2 types of hh. the guys that wil cold call everyone in the analyst facebook for your year. these calls usually come through the switchboard and they dont have a clue about who you are. chances of landing a good deal with one of these are lower. the 2nd type usually target you specifically based on referrals. quite a few of the good ones get most of their mandates based on recriot and target referrals. these come a few weeks / months after someone you have worked with 9and who likes you) moves. if noone of above description ahs moved and you get a very targeted call, it's probably a sign that your best ED / MD is leaving the firm :)
