How much does GPA matter after first job in real estate?
How much does undergrad GPA matter after your first job if you are trying to transition to a CBRE/Eastdil investment sales analyst position in a major market after 1-2 years of relevant work experience in real estate? Also, do MM REPE firms still care about undergrad GPA after you've been working for 2-4 years? I know the Blackstones, TPGs and Carlyles of the world care, but how about places like Prudential and Walton Street?
Very few places will care about your GPA after you have a few years experience. I don't recall ever having to disclose my GPA when interviewing.
In general, real estate does not care too much about pedigree. Companies you interview at will care more about your experience. The caveat to this is the Blackstones of the world who do care about pedigree.
I'd argue that most real estate places don't even care about your GPA for your first job, let alone later jobs. Especially brokerage firms.
