Your degree title matters much less than you think. As long as it is somewhat relevant, you get a good GPA and can show some form of demonstrable interest in finance, it won't make a material difference.
Completely agree, a degree is only one facet of an education, albeit a fairly significant one. Learning is lifelong, so major matters less and less over time.
The actual designation of BA versus BBA versus BS is fucking meaningless on its own. Content/instruction, peers, and, especially, the individual are what matter with regard to making a degree valuable.
