I'm trying to create a stock screener; but I am building it from scratch, and it requires a lot of fundamental data.
Does anyone know where/how I can extract specific line items off a companies financials without factset/bloomberg/etc? So far the only thing I can think of is extracting all the data from yahoo finance manually, but I would rather automate the data extraction using VBA or something.
Does anyone know how I can accomplish this?

If you want online screeners Finviz is good. If you're trying to build something in Excel like you said, you can use web queries to pull data from sites like Yahoo Finance.
