On the general SA 2020 mega thread, someone posted on May 8, "I had first round for Lazard this past Friday so I think they are starting up"
On the general SA 2020 mega thread, @atlas7 posted "Lazard has had a few superdays. Offers have been extended. The goal was to fill around half the class within the first application window. Class size is around 15 interns for M&A/Rx"
I personally know 2 people that have already accepted offers from accelerated superdays.
Also, If I'm not mistaken, the Lazard total sa class will be around 50 interns.
Is that total class size across all locations/mm advisory included? And is the 15 for NY?
There are 15 spots in total for the middle market across all the offices, only about 5-6 spots in NYC
IDK if those #'s are for specific groups or total all locations. Best to ask Lazard directly. If you eventually find out, please post here.
Last summer's intern class was ~35 for NY M&A/Rx, excluding middle market. This doesn't include spots in Lazard's other financial advisory businesses like PCA or CSA, which also take interns.
They've been holding first rounds/at least one super day for the past few weeks.
I know of one person at my school (target) that has signed with them for SA20 already in NYC.

Lazard HOU has started first round interviews as well as of a couple weeks ago
Lazard typically takes about 30 summer interns for NYC (M&A/RX), probably around 50 across all offices. They had a superday two or so weeks ago (for diversity candidates), not sure about superdays for non-diversity or targets.
Can Confirm that the west coast offices have begun superdaying/ handing out offers

I was initial phone screen -> superday coming up soon. I was told there would be another phone screen but never ended up happening. I am assuming there is one superday as I have not been told otherwise.

They are doing two waves. If you did not apply before April 20th, then you should expect to hear back starting in July (recent apps opened 2 or so weeks ago). Currently, they have filled half their class size and expect to fill the rest July-August.
mrferragamo123 is right that they are doing two waves of recruiting, but is wrong about the numbers. All satellite offices (Chi, SF Tech, LA, Boston) are done save for SF HC, and NYC M&A/RX has already filled 3/4 of their class. There will be another process starting in July/August where they will fill the rest of their class.
I had a phone screen 3 weeks ago and never heard back lol. Thought it went really well and the guy sent me a super nice follow-up email.

I applied in April lol and heard back over a month later to set up the phone call. I applied through my school's career portal.
NYC has M&A, RX and what other areas? I thought Lazard SA are generalists and not put into any specific areas. Not correct?
Capital Advisory, Private Capital Advisory, Asset Management, and Equity Research to name a few.
Equity research is within Lazard AM
In addition to M&A/RX, there is Private Capital Advisory, Capital Structure Advisory, and Shareholder Activism. Then there is Lazard Middle Market and Lazard Asset Management, but they are completely separate.
Lazard started super early at my school for non-diversity (target). Couple of my friends did 1r and supers back in March and received offers before the end of the month (M&A). There was no phone screen for this, just direct superday which caught all of us off guard.
I've heard first round calls happening throughout this month as well, both for NY M&A/RX and for SF/Houston. Some supers have happened, but I think they've moved onto the second round of applications at this point.
Anyone have any info regarding Lazard MM Charlotte?

NY not full, have 5-6 spots still open for which there will be a final superday soon.
Any idea when that superday will be? I thought lazard pushed the second wave entirely back to August/September
I was told by a VP that interviews will happen "sometime in August/September." Fingers crossed haha.

Missed the app window by a day, but I send an email to the CEO with my resume so I think I'm almost guaranteed a superday. Probably going to turn down the offer though as I have already accepted an ops role in Minnesota.
