Missed call after final-round. Any advice?

Got a call from an unknown number day after final-round. Voicemail was full so no message and haven't gotten an email in the last few hours. Any advice?

  1. I know this is a good sign but does HR ever reject by phone after finals?

  2. If they can't reach someone who they want to take would HR ever just reject them and move on to the next candidate for convenience?

thanks - does HR ever call people immediately after final rounds to reject? or do they only accept and keep everyone else on hold in case the first guys they accept turn down the offer?

Go on your cell phone company's website and look at your call log - usually even unknown numbers show up there (at least that's how it works on Sprint).

Edit: Apparently that only works after your bill closed - never mind...

?

They always called me from an unknown number. If the number was displayed it usually was an MD from his work cellphone.

If they want to extend you an offer, they're not going to change their mind because they couldn't get through to you. It would be one thing if your v/m message said something like "Hi I am so plastered I can't pick up the phone" but since that does not seem to be the case, I would just keep on waiting for the verdict.

asiamoneyYou have a voice mail? Haven't you listened to it/what did it say?

Voice mail was from a guy in HR who said to call him back. But I didn't get a chance to call back until after close of business.

Here's a thought... Try to scramble together the words that are in that voicemail.

You MAY be able to figure this one out for yourself. You got an offer, but I think they made a huge mistake.

i might be wrong... but from my experience, a call from your interviewer is normally a good sign, a call from HR means a rejection or waitlist. good luck and i hope you get the offer anyway...
