For an associate analyst in the corporate finance department or structured finance group are there opportunities to transition into research, either on the equity or fixed income side? I have heard DCM from these roles but I don't think I was able to find a definite answer on this.
If it is possible can anyone offer any insight as to what skills I should be strengthening in this role if i would like to make this jump? (Outside of networking)
