Moving from Australia

This is my first post and I am wondering if anyone on this site has moved to either London or the US to pursue a career in finance.

Currently I am studying at Melbourne University a bachelor of finance, which is rated as the best uni in Australia, however I really want to leave this country as after 21 years I need a change. I feel like life is passing me by way to fast at the moment because I am so used to everything around me and my daily routine etc, I want to be in a situation where I feel like a kid again and everything is new to me.

I will be finished next year half way and i am thinking of saving as much money as I can now and then as soon as i am done go over to London for 3 months then the US and spend the entire time searching for employment.

I would hopefully already have received a job in Australia, so if i dont find a job in that 6 month period, Il be back and ready to start a graduate job here in January when they all start.

How hard would it be to find work with decent grades and hopefully I will score an internship this summer with an IB in Australia. Does this sound like good/bad idea?

Thanks in advance.

US will be hard. Unless you bring some sort of outstanding "skill" that is rarely possessed by Americans, it will be hard to find a company that will sponsor you.
