SA2022 Recruiting Timeline

Looking to see if anyone has any insight into when some banks will be kicking off their recruiting cycles or if any banks have come out and stated their plans for SA2022. Seen in previous years/threads anywhere between early spring like Feb/March and fall junior year so wondering if it is going to be the same or different for 2022.

Please spare me the "iF yOu dOnT kNoW hOw tO uSe GoOgLe MaYbe ThIs IsNt fOr YoU" comment, it helps nobody. I would appreciate it if you only comment if you have real info that would be helpful. Thanks

More seriously, very uncertain right now. A lot of banks pushed back this year because of Covid, but now that the surprise effect of the crisis is largely gone, it's not impossible that they may go back to the accelerated timeline, which means some interviews starting around March.

Lol I knew some people would say it, but I do appreciate you giving some real insight. That is what I was thinking, but wasn't sure if any banks had finalized what they were going to do.

Banks never finalize anything. You have to wait. Even when they finalize they change things up and even the analysts can be disconnected with HR.

However this shouldn’t affect how you’re networking or anything so for now worry about doing that and actually preparing for interviewing like technicals and behavioral

Personally I think some firms will go early no matter what (specialized boutiques and most of the boutiques) and then a few boutiques early to mid summer ish. mid summer to fall are 1-2 boutiques and most bb and international banks, as well as most MM/LMM firms.

Don't know for sure, but I think a lot are. There are some threads about the banks still going through 2021 recruiting I believe

OP here so I haven't been through the process before, but this is something I'm also wondering. It sucks how banks have different timelines because I'd be making a big bet on myself to pass on any offer. I also wouldn't want to run the risk of reneging and risk the bank finding out. Just a tough situation. What I think I would do in the situation is to try to judge how strong my other connections are at other banks and a real, honest look at my odds and decide from that.

Just get on their mailing list. The full process will probably be somewhat similar in structure and timing (just guessing). Also, firms always send out reminders for when apps are open. Keep a running Excel sheet with links to their portal and check every 1-2 wks to see if any updates have been made. If so, write down the date they open. I'd also use the Excel sheet to have columns for who you networked with, their position, and last touchpoint. Easier to organize everything, especially if someone hits you with who have you spoken with and wants names.

Also most BBs if not using the accelerated programs don't open till July I think. Referral deadlines might be a few weeks earlier than that for some firms. I don't remember. Only EBs open and generally fill most of their class in the Spring alone.
