I'm really starting to question his abilities for the job. What president fires his FBI director (for no real good reason other than his [Comey's] preference for truth over loyalty) then threatens to blackmail him with possible recordings?
And just blabbing out classified info to the Russians. I mean, I like the Russians and have a lot of respect for Putin, but again, I'm not the POTUS.
I could go on and on.

I voted for Trump which was more of a vote for the VP as well as the obvious no way in hell having Hillary in the Oval Office but he is to the point now that I have a very hard time defending him.
This is why we needed Johnson to win. A relaxed dude that could provide kick ass domestic policy while smoking weed on top of mountains each weekend.

Honestly, I think 40% is pretty high. I'd ballpark it at around 20%, if even. He has/is in the process of ruining so many good relationships and breaking down communication channels which are beneficial for the US as well as its allies.

I, too, voted for Trump by default because I abhorred--and still do--Hillary Clinton, but I was a passionate Rubio supporter in the primary and am still sad he lost the nomination fight.
With that said, I'm appalled by Trump. Utterly appalled. That is all.
That's the problem, people thought this was a traditional "vote along party even if you hate the person representing the party" candidate. His incompetence, fully on display during the campaign, was vastly vastly underestimated by the GOP and their supporters. I was not a fan of HRC and would likely have voted Romney if he ran but there was no question in my mind who to vote for when it came to Trump.
I can't speak for others, but I was fully aware that this was not a traditional "party-line" vote. For me, it came down to the Supreme Court--that was my deciding factor the week before the election on whether or not to abstain or to vote Trump. To me, the gamble was worth the risk, and at least that was taken care of (from my perspective). If I'm a Republican House member or Senator, I think at this juncture I would support conspiring to get Trump out of office. Pence would be orders of magnitude better than Trump, regardless of one's public policy positions.
That Trump is a showman prone to impulsive outbursts has never been a surprise. The way he and his administration have behaved in recent weeks definitely raises red flags. But contrary to some feverish cries for impeachment proceedings to begin, the next step is merely further investigation - by both the FBI/Justice department and the congressional intelligence committee. Until more concrete evidence appears (the contents of Comey's memo were read over the phone to the NYT reporter / havn't been physically produced yet), we don't know if recent events reflect anything more that Trump's temperament and general ignorance. None of this - as unpresidential and suspicious as it is - indicates immediate grounds for impeachment.
My deeper fear is that the FBI and congressional committee fail to investigate properly. The former is ultimately beholden to the Justice Department which seems too be cozy with the administration, and partisan interests could very likely hinder the latter (see Devin Nunes' antics before recusal. I really hope that any improprieties are dug up, and that justice is served. But I don't have too much faith in the oversight system in place.

I don't think anyone on this forum or the majority of Americans understand what it takes to actually impeach a sitting President. Dems are doing to Trump what Republicans did to Clinton. Difference is Clinton committed a crime and Democrats made up a lie.
You all do realize that in order to impeach we need to prove Russia and Trump colluded to swing the election his way. You do realize that this is tantamount to an act of war. One cannot impeach Trump without devastating sanctions on Russia.
And you all realize that impeaching Trump would also mean no tax reform or Obamacare fix. No agenda. A long, drawn out process. The markets would tank. We would also be antagonizing Russia and China at a time of economic and leadership weakness.
All because some cry baby thinks Trump is Hitler. And guess what. Pence supports effective torture on gays. An actual Nazi policy. Oh, Sessions will still be AG. Perry will still running energy. Mattis will still be pushing for war with NK.
But muh feels. Muh illegal immigrants. Muh angry women studies majors.
Let that all sink in.
BTW - Flynn's "crime". Failed to disclose a $45K payment to speak from RT in 2015. He must be the cheapest general to buy in the world if $45K gets him anywhere. So there is your Trump connections.

If the memo is real then at this point he's basically done exactly the thing that Nixon would've gotten impeached for (if he didn't resign). Defend Nixon if you want (honestly probably easier than trump if you're not living in the world as defined by breitbart) but at this point that's what you're doing. I'm liberal though so that bullshit Ahca and tax reform dying is a feature and not a bug (I'm more scared that it'll actually make that heinous bullshit easier to pass without trump around to focus the opposition's anger and gum up the legislation with his incompetence).

The special counsel is to investigate trump - Russia connections. This allegation of collusion is massive. We aren't talking about impropriety. We aren't even talking about obstruction of justice (one can do this to simply avoid political embarrassment). We are talking about something that has never happened in modern political history. It would change everything, if true.
But that's a huge if. Dems have been claiming collusion with Russia for months, but we don't have any actual evidence to support this claim. Many people just kinda casually assume that it hasn't been uncovered yet, or that the relatively minor but still improper behavior from trump and his allies amounts to circumstantial evidence.
Here's the rub though: if there is no evidence of collusion, trump becomes untouchable. He'll become something like a folk hero to millions of people for standing up to the Washington machine. This isn't something a party can take a shot at to try and score some political points (Clinton sex scandal), this is something the Dems are going all in on. There is no coming back at this point. Either trump accepted money, made a quid pro quo, etc with the kremlin and there is evidence proving this, or he didn't. Trying to go back to impeachment for obstruction of justice for saying "can you let this go" would be laughable after this investigation is over. It's all or nothing now.
