Thanks for the post! Must've missed your reply.
Hey Brrger, how long did it take you to hear a response after your cognitive & behavioral test?
I actually haven't gotten anything back yet. I'm kinda nervous- forgot that wrong answers weren't penalized and didn't finish the last 10-15 questions like a fool. Tried to sneak my tests in during my lunch hour which probably wasn't a great idea either. How about you?
So you got an interview before you finished the assessment? B/c I got my assessment as soon as I applied
I thought at the time that the personality assessment was a fancy way of saying fit interview. To be honest- I was not expecting to get anything back at all, so I got a little ahead of myself. Still, if something materializes with this place or another, some advice is always helpful. My invitation came a little while later after I applied. Is it perhaps an auto-invite? Total bummer if that's the case lol
I got one too, but I don't think its an auto assessment because the cognitive test invite said "congratulations on making it to the next step in our hiring process." Would be interested if anyone could share more about the firm though. PEI 300 lists them as #13 PE firm and they have over $30 billion in capital, plus their latest fund closed at abt $11bil, so it seems like they are on the verge of becoming a megafund, at least in the tech space. Thoughts?
I got one too and just took the assessment earlier
Vista is one of the top tech PE funds, you're fortunate if you've gotten an interview invite and should take it very seriously. I'd hit all the various online PE guides hard.
they are also pretty active, sorry to throw more on your plate but know their recent transactions and try to somewhat understand current landscape. good luck!
In the same shoes here, completed both tests last Thursday and haven't heard back yet (it's Monday now). You guys hear anything yet?
Sorry to bust any bubbles here but if you don't complete the entire test and score 90%+, you're probably not getting an interview.
Agreed to this, missed like 3 in the end but thought I did well. Make sure to finish the test
Wow seriously?
I managed to answer 45/46 out of 50, and thought I did well on the ones I got to
Just got the personality assessment/cognitive assessment test as well.
I finished 43/50 , and I'm almost certain I got all of them right except for one that I misclicked ...
Is that "90% and whole test completed" an estimate or do you have inside information

just bumping to see if anyone had heard back. been abt 10 days since the test for me
How many questions did you manage to finish if you don't mind me asking?
I finished all of them. Been doing GMAT prep so it really helped me on pacing/answering simple problems quickly
Can you describe the questions, or maybe some places to potentially practice? My only experience in the last...forever...was some recent practice on tradertest's site.
Wait, did yours tell you what you got right when you submitted? I don't think mine did
Is this for the analyst opening in SF? I'm not sure if they require a personality assessment test.
They do
hey, did anyone hear back after the assessment? any interviews?
Heard back after the assessment -- this is for the research analyst position, not a private equity analyst position. Anyone have any insight on this position?
how did you feel about the assessment? did you get a majority of questions?
jw cause i took it yesterday
Are you an undergrad applying for the (research/investment) analyst position? Or is this for a pre-MBA associate role?
undergrad for analyst role. you?
Pre MBA associate in my case. Looks like they're running a few processes at once
.
@atls29 I just took the assessment. How long did it take for you to hear back?
did you hear anything back yet?
No. I took it 3/12 so wasn't expecting response for at least a week.
gotcha, i took it over the weekend, so we are in the same boat. did you apply to the research position? austin/chi?
Analyst. Chicago. Are you applying to Austin?
Same as you. Are you applying for the PE or research or consulting analyst role?
Fund Management. You?
Ah gotcha, i applied for the PE
Pretty sure it was roughly over a week until I heard back.
