Typical future compensation for Underwriting Analyst (GSE)
Hey wso, I've been in my underwriting analyst role for a GSE lender for going on a year now and was wondering if what I'm making sounds about right and what I can expect in terms of future growth. I'm in a MCOL city and have a base salary of $57k with a 30% "target" bonus (which can be more or less from the sound of it). I really like my role and plan to see where this goes in the coming years so wondering what kind of compensation I should be seeing in the next 3/5/10+ years. Thanks in advance!
Seems accurate. I came from a MCOL and that's inline or a little higher than straight out of UG pay.
If you choose to stick with GSE underwriting, you can expect to make $200k down the line with 40 hour weeks. Really cushy job but not for everyone.
Thanks! I am straight from UG so that's good to hear. How many years in do you think I would be seeing 100k+ all-in? I'm planning on sticking with UW or moving to originations eventually but learning the credit side of the business has been great so far.
I don't know how many years before $100k, but I would guess 2-4 maybe? Hopefully someone can answer that one with a specific answer.
I do know 6-8 (+/-) years down the road, you will be at $200k+. Glad you are enjoying what you do.
