I shattered my 2018 time at Augusta 2019 with a 4:48. Goal for 2020 is 4:25 if they have the race.

I had one amateur boxing fight before heading to college, now i'm just training for fitness. Aren't you afraid it might reduce your cognitive performance? Even headers on soccer players may cause cognitive impairment can't imagine what boxing might do.

I've heard good things about having a 140 IQ, so trying to get there one training session at a time. I'm at about a 153 now, down from a 160 IQ. Happy with the progress.

Girls seem to laugh more with me instead of at my antics and life is going well. Highly recommended if you're trying to scrape a few IQ points! :P

What mma gym are you at? I’ve been looking for recommendations in the city there’s so many of them

I'm at American Top Team - not HQ. I don't live in NYC anymore.

I'd check out the Renzo Gracie place though and possibly The Wat with Phil Nurse.

Gotta get a visible six pack by nov 9th, also want pecs another half inch of growth. Maintaining ratios on bi's and tri's.

I still put in my 45min morning workouts, but gonna try to do a quick dirty bulk then clean for a week then 2 weeks cut/lean gainz. We'll see...

It was relatively gradual. Started cooking at home mainly (It is so easy to get a meal at a foodtruck / deli sub / burrito bowl / etc and eat like 1000+ calories for lunch without even realizing it). Also started to put veggies in morning shake to add volume / fiber (doesn't taste as good but I make it as condensed as possible and just pound it in the morning.

Pulled a back to back all nighter to fix my college "go to sleep at 3am" regular schedule. Slept at 10 awake at 5ish, gym in the morning, at first not very organized, I would shoot hoops some mornings, run, lift, etc.

Can't stress drinking water enough. It really fills out your stomach and keeps you from confusing hunger with thirst. Starting full time helped because it kept me to an honest schedule, gym breakfast, work, lunch, (occasional team basketball games post work), dinner, repeat.

Also in college I would use "fucking it I'm drunk / hungover" as an excuse to just sleep in, not be productive, and order food all Sunday after a weekend out. Instead towards the end I started pounding pedialyte, forcing myself outside for a walk, going to the dining hall and eating healthier.

Get under 210 lbs. Currently am around 250, peaked at 275 in May. Have made good progress so far but am kinda stagnating now. I wanna be at 210 or lower by Mardi Gras, so I have about 5 months to lose 40 pounds. This is tough but I've seen others do it, and it breaks down to about 2 pounds a week. To clarify I am not standard "fat", I am a fairly build dude and barrel chested from 9 years of bench pressing and have been working out my core for about 4 years. I realized how much it pains me to do my intense morning ab routine just to have my progress be covered by a gut. Gotta be honest with myself. I'm proud of my progress so far but need to keep pushing forward so I can look how I want to. I don't really need to have the build of a Nose Guard anymore lmao. I have been eating healthier, and tried IF but it didn't really work for me and I couldn't stick with it. My focus is going to be doubling the amount of HIIT I do and increasing difficulty of my other cardio stuff while eating healthy.

Checking in after a year and a half, I had gotten down to about 215-220 but went back up to 235 during the pandemic (I was one of the people who chose not to get healthier). Limiting carb intake really helped and was actually the game changer. It was actually easy to do from work with build-your-own salads at sweetgreen and chopt. I am eating healthier now than I was in April but still have a way to go. Look forward to getting back in the office and back on that diet, as it was pretty easy to maintain.

Boosted my bench to 250lbs - hoping to hit 275 by the end of the year :)

Started as a small lanky kid years ago. I go through cycles of lifting like crazy and not so much but I'm happy with the progress I have made. I think one good measure of fitness is being able to squat and bench your body weight (ideally for reps). 1.5x body weight 1RM is even better!

Lift 3 times a week, yoga twice a week. Drastically improve mobility for golf game....Just got below a 10 handicap this year and would like to get below 7 next season.

Similar to rothbard814 used to be big into power lifting/putting up numbers, but after wrestling into my 20's and lifting hard, I started breaking down a bit. Got up to a 500 dead and 425 back squat @ 150lbs., but it did nothing for my health and function.

Now I am just looking to lean out, improve mobility, and maintain my current athleticism into my 30s and on.

To look like an NFL linebacker. I'm close now. I'm about the size of a big Free Safety.

Would like to get back in shape (let myself go in college after being an athlete). Plan to take up MMA/Muy Thai as well as (not strictly for fitness) marksmanship since I'm located in an area that's great for both. Down 15 lbs in the last 3 months so far and cardio is coming back so, on my way!

Very interested in Muy Thai, it's my favorite fighting form. Drinking a lot of water and starting to run everyday. Also, trying to eat very clean with a good amount of protein with a cheat meal every here and there.

Training to get a world championship slot next year in the 2020 Augusta 70.3 Half Iron. Then probably training for 2021 70.3 world championships in Utah.

I got a 4:48 this year at Augusta - I probably need to get down to 4:20-4:30 in 2020.

used to run marathons/OCRs, lift heavy, etc etc.

past year got into submission grappling and brazilian jiu jitsu. had my first competition and loved it. hoping to build on it...

the goals always get higher and higher. it was front squat 405 last year bc it was a weakness and after doing it you just want more. but corona has reset that to some extent.

the only way to reach high fitness goals is sacrifice and consistency. you do those two things, without exogenous factors like injuries etc... you should get there

Corona + exam stress + working long hours has destroyed my body. Planning an 8-week fitness boot camp from when I finish my job to when school starts back. Goals: lose 20lbs, run half marathon.

Ive been focusing on mobility. I’ve found that I was approaching joint health, which is a bigger personal concern than getting more shreds, from a strength perspective and after doing way too many squats and lunges I got stronger, but my knees and ankles didn’t feel any better. I saw that knees-over-toes guy do the front splits and the rest is history lmao.

WFH definitely lets me get up and walk around more often which is cool.

Oh yeah I tried stretching and foam rolling etc. stuff everyday didn’t last very long. I have no commitment to the small things that barely do anything, I either gotta work out like 12-15 hrs a week or say fk it and enjoy life. Which I’m actually not so much right now because I’m just relaxing but the gains will come back so it’s all good

I did a race (running) Saturday - 3rd men overall. Bought 220lbs of ice for race.

2.62mi x 5 laps every 45min in 90-100 temps

I don't get it, you ran a half marathon in 5 laps? or you ran one lap every 45 mins until you ran a half? either way, I know you're fast, so that's awesome you came in 3rd

what was the ice for?

Yeah, a half marathon in 5 laps. One lap every 45 minutes. Thanks!

I made an ice bath out of 150lbs of ice and also filled up 3 coolers to keep my Gatorade Endurance cold.

It was my first running award in a long time. I'm actually currently a better triathlete than pure runner. But, it was a small race, so ran well and placed. It was fun running at the front of the pack.

what's not being discussed here is how your goals can change over time, so don't worry if you have a goal in your mind then suddenly lose interest. the older I get, the less excited I am about doing back squats and barbell bench press. I hit my long term goals of 405 & 300 respectively, and don't really care to go back. I still do squats and pressing work, just in other ways (floor press, front squat, dips, split squats, etc)

current goals - full extension wheel kick (kicking leg still bends a bit, can't quite get it to whip like wonderboy), 20 unbroken dead hang ring pullups (can do 100 in a sitting, but have to take breaks every 5-10 pullups), maintain my current physique but with more mobility (can touch my toes, but my heels elevate on downward facing dog as an example), complete a marathon by end of year (completed my first ever half 1 month into running, but been too bloody hot to get all my miles in recently)
