Interview
investment banking summer analyst process began with an online application and assessment, followed by a first-round interview and a Superday. The interviews covered technical, behavioral, and market questions. Technical questions included “Walk me through a DCF,” “How does a $10 increase in depreciation affect the three financial statements?” and “What makes a deal accretive or dilutive?” Behavioral questions focused on why I wanted to work in investment banking and at J.P. Morgan, as well as times I had worked through a challenge or disagreement on a team. For markets, I was asked about recent deals, where I thought interest rates were headed, and how higher rates might affect M&A activity.

Interview
Happiness (Pros)

The interview process moved very quickly, and the overall recruiting timeline was efficient. Communication and scheduling were handled promptly, which made the process feel well organized from a timing perspective.

Sadness (Cons)

The attitude and level of engagement of some interviewers were disappointing. During one of the interviews, the interviewer appeared to be working on other tasks throughout the conversation and did not seem fully attentive to my responses. This made the interview experience feel unprofessional and gave the impression that the candidate's time and effort were not being fully respected.
Interview Questions
One of the most difficult and unexpected questions was to solve, on the spot, a linear stochastic differential equation with time-varying coefficients:

dX_t = a(t)X_t dt + b(t)dW_t.

What made the question particularly frustrating was that the interviewer did not seem interested in hearing my reasoning or approach. I tried to explain the derivation and the intuition behind the solution, but the interviewer appeared to be waiting only for the final calculated result, almost as if the exercise were purely a test of mechanical computation rather than mathematical reasoning.

Interview
I networked with three analysts in the Charlotte office before applying. After submitting my application, I completed a HireVue focused primarily on behavioral questions. I was then invited to a final-round Superday with multiple interviews covering fit, behavioral questions, and my interest in Private Banking. I ultimately did not receive an offer after the Superday.

Interview
The interview was very conversational, no technical questions, it was with 5 bankers based in NYC via Zoom, and it was only one interview, after the interview I got in.
Interview Questions
I didn't get any difficult questions, they were all conversational. I spoke about Argentina's political/economic landscape and explained things like the changing interest rate and FX dynamics that had recently changed due to the change in government. I did not receive any questions that I would perceive as difficult or technical for that matter.
