Interview
The process began with an HR phone screen focused on resume walkthrough and basic fit questions (why Lazard, why IB, why the specific group). About a week later, I had a first-round interview with two analysts that was very technical-heavy.

They tested core valuation concepts (full DCF walkthrough, WACC, unlevering/relevering beta, and LBO basics) along with detailed accounting questions (3-statement walk-through and transaction adjustments). There was also a strong focus on tech-specific questions, including SaaS valuation metrics (ARR, NDR, Rule of 40), how to think about revenue quality, and how growth vs. profitability impacts multiples. They wanted candidates to understand the tech landscape and speak intelligently about current trends and recent deals.

Interview
The process started with 4 preliminary screening coffee chats. These were primarily to understand your background and to see if you are following the industry news. After this, the official interview process starts with a technical first round interview which lasts 30 minutes and consists of your regular DCF, Multiples, and Valuation questions. The super day consisted of 4 interviews, 2 within group and 2 out of the group (1 VP and 1 MD each). The interviews with MDs were more focused on behavioral and industry questions, whereas the interviews with VPs were more technical in nature, but not as technical as the first round interview.

The interview was very technical and had one of those rare chances where my resume was passed by recruiters and the guy interviewing me asked a lot of hardball questions. When I mentioned it later to an associate at a BB they were surprised to and safe to say I did not hear back.
Interview Questions
Asked a lot of stats and probability questions even though it was a capital markets interview and asked only a few basic technicals and few markest based questions
