Advice needed: Family office to Goldman Sach's Asset Management Real Estate Investing

I'm curious what everyone's opinion is on switching to GS AM: Real Estate investing team (location: HK)

Background:

  • Currently working on the real estate team of a family office/investment management firm
    • The firm's leadership and board are quite legitimate and very experienced. The firm invests in public and private companies + real estate (across all of the capital structure). The team is small so I've been very hands on with deals and investments.
    • The pay is very average and I started here as an analyst right out of university after interning during my sophomore and senior year.
    • The firm is relatively new having started out in recent few years and they are ambitious in growing their real estate investments etc but I feel like I'm missing out on a much better pay and brand name. However, the upside is on this smaller team, I may also miss out on large growth moving forward?
    • I've been working here for about a year.
  • I'm not sure if I'm missing out by not working at a larger brand named firm and recently seen there are a lot of hiring for the real estate team at GS AM.

Does anyone know what it's like at GS AM real estate team (culture, work quality and pay etc) and thoughts on if I should switch?

Thanks a lot!
