Am I stupid to leave my job?

Currently working at a top AM firm, but honestly don't like the work and hate the city. I'm thinking of moving back to my home city doing OCIO work which would be a step down in comp and brand, but would give me more time to recruit + improve my quality of life. Only have 2 years of experience under my belt so could ride this out until an MBA

I have two concerns 1) It's going to look pretty shitty if I use this job just to get home and then pivot as soon as I find something better and 2) I might get pigeonholed into asset management and the public markets. Thoughts?
