BlackRock Alternatives Specialists insights?
Anyone have any insights on this team within BR alternatives? I can't seem to find much info about what they actually do at junior levels or summer internships and how exactly they work together with the investments team. How does it compare to IB or other teams within BR for starting your career in terms of hours, pay etc?

BAS do portfolio allocation of alts funds for institutional investors. Not an investment role, more akin to IR / sales but technical.
How does this compare to an investment role? In terms of career path?
BAS is not an investment role. You don’t generate income for the firm but you are more akin to a technical consultant. You get promoted based on quality of the analysis and client interaction (as a junior) and for your ability to “deliver the firm” as more senior. It’s a VERY different role, hence very hard to compre.
