Canadian vs US Pay Disparity for Asset Management

I've been looking into the AM space between Canada and US for a little bit, and one thing I can't reconcile is why there's such a huge difference in pay between both countries. Now, I've previously studied the Consulting space, so I hadn't expected anything close to even salary, but the amount I'm seeing makes me question why anyone would pursue AM in Canada, so I wanetd to see if I'm being misled.

For context, I'm primarily analyzing post-MBA track for Front and Middle Office (Product Management, Portfolio Strategy and Client Engagement).

The below table summarizes things:

Now, from what I've seen across job boards, the amounts quoted here are a bit inflated for the Canadian side (not for Consulting), but curious if this is way off from others' experiences or if I'm missing something.

I've seen lower numbers on the AM side, even in cities like TO/VAN. Reason people work for these salaries is that employees don't have much negotiating power in Canada, especially in finance. Finance opportunities are limited, so comps gets lower, similar issue in IB/PE. There are some outliers that pay close to what you'd make in the US but those firms are very selective.
