Exit Opps for an Internal Wholesaler

Hello WSO, I was wondering what exit opps exist for an internal wholesaler at a top AM (think Blackrock, Capital Group, PIMCO)? I know that internally one can move into a National/Key Accounts role managing home office relationships, External Wholesaler or move into a product role. However, I was wondering if a transition into Debt Capital Markets (DCM), or IR at a Hedge Fund/PE firm is possible. Let me know your thoughts...
