Top HY Managers?
Just curious if anyone has any insight on who the top High-Yield groups are? I bet most size-able funds have a decent product here, but was curious if anyone knew some groups that stand out/are well known for being top notch. The only one I have heard much about is JPM.
For classic European LO HY, Candriam, PGIM, Janus Henderson, Colombia Threadneeedle are names that actually have good performance. Most of the UK AMs don’t really have great performance (although have a good amount of assets), M&G, Aberdeen, Schroders, Aviva etc. The bank AM arms also do pretty poorly in EUR HY, JPMAM and MSIM, Nomura, & UBS have actually pretty terrible performance... I think Blackrock / Muzinich are okay but not world beaters
Thanks for the insight, do you know if any of the managers you mentioned also have strong HY in the US? Some of those are big names so I would assume there is some overlap in quality. Thanks again
Yeah unfortunately since I work in Europe, I haven’t got as good a feel for US guys... you just have to look at each manager’s retail funds and that will give you a decent idea
how's PIMCO like in the UK and the HY teams of PE-affliated funds?
