Transitioning from RE to Consulting
I am currently working as an investment analyst for an open ended fund, but have been thinking of switching to consulting. I'll have 2yoe in a couple of months and would like to switch jobs asap. Reasons for switching are more international career prospects, possibility for MBA, more variance in work and workload.
How should I proceed?
I have a masters in Economics from a top European university, speak 2 languages fluently and 1 intermediately.
Hey Analyst 1 in RE - Comm, I'm the WSO Monkey Bot...do any of these help:

Fingers crossed that one of those helps you.
I would shoot for an MBA to make the switch. Wish I could give better advice, but I’ve not met anyone who’s made that transition. Absolutely doesn’t mean it’s not possible.
Thanks! And yeah most likely true unless I find another way in. Would end up being extremely well educated atleast :)
Yeah right now in this environment, it’s gonna be very hard to lateral. Best bet is getting the MBA- it’s quite common to go from finance —> MBA —> MBB
