Educated guest: no private credit specific forum. Hedge funds come in all shapes and flavours, equity only hedge funds aren’t the only hedge funds. The number of equity hedge funds is probably tiny compared to the number of credit funds

 

idk man, if I really had to guess I'm reckoning no, because by the point you are a L/S analyst you are usually a very experienced professional (2 years of banking, then maybe PE, then L/S or straight to L/S from banking or S&T). With all that experience under your belt, kinda pigeonholes ya, not to mention the fundamental drastic differences between equity and credit. They're just a different breed.

If you wanna transition, sure, but I'm guessing doing it early is more realistic. But then L/S is such a good seat already, I'm not sure why someone would want to move

 

Very fair, was asking a college senior who is starting in L/S after graduation and have been wondering what a career pivot would look like if it's not for me
