Can I break into Equity Research post grad?

Graduated undergrad about 2 years ago (Non target, mediocre 3.2 GPA, Tech Sales internship). After that I did tech sales for about 1.5 years, and then transitioned to a Commercial Banking Credit Analyst (BB) for almost a year now.

I've been interested in equity research for a while now. I have taken courses (Peak Frameworks), was a member of my university portfolio club, and I have always been fascinated with the research behind it. Problem is, my resume doesn't seem too strong. I don't have a fancy equity research internship, I don't work in IB, and I don't have my CFA (yet).

I would just like to know if my dreams are hopeless. I am looking for entry level ER positions, but I never seem to find ones that are ACTUALLY entry level (without requiring a year of ER experience). Are there opportunities for post grad people to break in?
