Quantitative Analysis career path

Hey,
I’m interviewing with an investment bank for a quantitative analysis job. How difficult would it be to transition from that to equity research?

It’s for a real estate focused investment bank. The job would, from my understanding, focus on gathering market data, finding NAVs, etc. for publicly traded REITs. It would be in support of their IB and ER functions.

There are many types of Quants. Some are alike and some are not depending of the firm and the context of either backoffice or middle office. Some quants support traders. Some quants simply help develop products or platforms.

Quants vary in their lifestyle as well, but the hours are generally good.

Anyway, you're too lazy to use Google, according to your post, and they're tons of books on this... so GTFO.
