I would treat it as if it were a Research Associate interview.
Expect to be grilled on B/S, I/S & CF statement details, know a lot of the technical questions from the WSO technical guide. Additionally, be prepared to tell them you want to/ are planning on doing your CFA.

Any more info regarding the Sanford Bernstein interview process, especially the written test, is much appreciated!
LOTS of case studies and LOTS of interviews. i went through like 8 interviews i think with everyone from junior associates to the head of US research. the case questions are like estimate the number of toothbrushes bought this year...

btw my interviews had no questions on financial statments...like i said...study case questions...
I would recommend Case in Point by Marc Cosentino, great book about how to do really well in case interviews. Tips, tricks and some practice cases covering all bases. Mostly good for consulting but since someone mentioned that you would likely have case questions, I would try to take a quick look at this book. Good luck!

yeah prepare like you're going into a consulting interview and you'll be fine. the questiosn aren't as hard as consulting questions (mostly estimating stuff). the reason why they focus on case questions because a lot of senior analysts come from prestigious consulting firms like mckinsey, bain, bcg. they really pride themselves on having more of a consulting mind frame compared to research firms at BB

Does anyone have any experience with equity research interviews with Sanford Bernstein, particularly for the Junior Research Associate role?

but quantitative, case study, etc. they really make sure they are getting the right person
Anyone know what the written test at Bernstein is like?
Not at Bernstein, but they'll probably sit you in front of a computer, give you a PR and excel model, and tell you to update the model and write the recap note as fast as you can. Or maybe they'll e-mail it to you and have you do it within the day....something like that, because you'll be writing all of the recap notes for the analyst.
