Series 7 Sponsorship

Hello All,

I'm currently working middle office at a MM and was looking into making the change over to ER. I was not sure what I wanted to do out of college so I took the first job offered and have been with it for about 6 months now. With this role, I was sponsored to take the SIE and Series 99 exams and have passed both. I was looking into maybe taking another FINRA exam such as the Series 7. I know it is required by some banks and the exam is not as specific to a different role as other exams thus not raising any red flags that I may be trying to leave soon. Is there any chance I could have my current bank sponsor me for the exam even tho it isn't required for my current role? Does anyone have any experience with this and what were the results?

Also, in general, would getting the Series 7 actually help my chance of landing a role in ER, or is it not worth the hassle and no recruiter would actually care if you have passed it or not? Why I thought about this is because I have been grinding through the WSP modeling course and was just wondering if there could be other ways to appear more hireable and boost my resume with minimal relevant work besides the School investment management group.

Thanks
