SS Investment Grade Credit Research?

Considering an opportunity in sellside credit research on the investment/high grade side. Just curious if anyone has thoughts on SS credit research and particular the IG side? Seems to me like you are covering the same names as the equity guys so theres less room to add value outside of cap structure/curve calls. Additionally, thinking about it versus High Yield, seems like you cant roll up the sleeves and dig into the scenario/stressed types of analysis, so its really just a relative value game. What would be the big advantage of IG vs HY or ER? Are there any unique exit ops? Seems like it would mostly be LO stuff at an AM/insurance fund. Thanks
