What do the buckets look like in ER?
I'm a first year assoc in ER. How does bucketing work? I understand your analyst holds final say, but how is it supposed to work if you're the only associate your analyst works with? Do they communicate to the head of research and they do the bucketing?
Also, is there any meaningful spread in comp/promotion timeline between buckets?

In my experience, feedback comes from two sources - your senior and the sales team. Senior holds more weight but sales folks provide comparable reviews across the department as they interact with everyone
Definitely both your analyst and the salesforce. Keep them both happy - whatever it takes. From my firm's POV, when it comes to promotion the salesforce's opinion on you carries as much (if not more) weight in determining your advancement.
Just curious, how can one be more helpful to sales? Wonder how it works in different banks.
If your analyst is very hands on and they have 20-30 years experience and know everything, why would the sales turn to you instead of your analyst?
