How do you know the money is on the buyside, not sellside? Do you know how much money sellside analysts make and how much buysiders make? Do you know how stable sellside is vs buyside?
it can take years to build a successful franchise on the sellside, high risk to give that up and maybe go get blown out in 6months on the buyside
Once a senior analyst becomes well-established with consistent deal flow, the risk/reward for going to the buyside is not worth it.
