something I didn't realize when I began networking and set me back a lot was to try and talk as if you're friends with the guy/girl, but don't force anything. Position yourself in the call as if they're your mentor and your getting their advice on how to succeed, as well as hearing about their own lives (without overstepping boundaries). Positioning yourself this way will make your success theirs as well
