2 weeks notice

Hey all,I'm about to submit my 2 weeks notice in my current corporate banking job. My question is if it's ok to tell people where my next job will be at or if I should keep that quite until I'm in the seat. I've seen this one go both ways so was curious to hear from others on this. Thanks

Three comments.

1) If you want to keep it quiet, just tell your current firm that you were asked to sign an NDA / keep confidential

2) If you're moving from IB to PE, there's a good chance you'll be asked to work your notice period as there's minimal risk of you taking information

3) If there's a realistic chance that your current shop will be a relevant banking house to your new PE firm, it can be a good idea to keep goodwill and tell them where you're going. It's good to maintain banking contacts on the buyside
