I don't think there's already a forum on Goldman's 2019 IBD Summer Analyst recruiting process, so figured I'd start one. Please share insights/questions below! Is anyone else recruiting through the accelerated timeline?
Goldman Sachs Summer Analyst Timeline
It seems like the recruiting cycle starts earlier every year. While there’s no guarantee that the next year’s cycle will follow a similar pattern, here is what WSO community members have reported for 2019 SA positions.
Early Action (applications closed May 15th)
- HireVues: mid to end-April
- Superdays: invites sent out early May, Superdays held mid to end-May
- Offer decision deadline: September 1st
Regular: (applications opened July 1st)
- HireVues: early to mid August
- Superdays: invites sent early September, Superdays held mid to end-September
- Offer decision deadline: TBD
Tips for Applying and Interviewing
Network. Network. Network.

It's really not in anyone's best interest to share the Hirevue questions considering they would be giving their competition a clear leg up on themselves.

Anyone have any updates on the July 1st applicant timeline?
I was told that it will "likely be early-mid August before any initial status updates" (rejection or hirevue) for people who applied July 1.
A quick google search will give you more details on this, but:
Classic/IB = coverage groups (tmt, fig, industrials, etc.) also includes the M&A group Financing = capital markets (ecm, igcm, levfin, derivatives, etc.)
spoke to an associate on my school's recruiting team this morning who affirmed that hirevues will be sent out early-mid august and superdays will be held early september -- this is for NY IBD
edit: also, NY IBD is not close to being finished -- early app candidates got offers, but i'd say >50% of spots are unfilled
i've spoken with several peers at my target + contacts at GS (classic and financing) + HCM contacts at GS (school recruiter and diversity recruiter) who have all said that first round of hirevues for IBD NYC will be sent out mid-august. however, i did also confirm that IF you applied (talking about regular timeline) to IBD + another division (say GIR), and GIR selects you NOW for an interview, you will also have IBD specific questions in that hirevue in case IBD selects you later on for an interview.
tl;dr: if you haven't received a hirevue yet and are concerned about your application for IBD, none have been sent out.
Was told Hirevues for IBD will be sent out August 20th.
Did anyone who (1) didn’t apply early and (2) isn’t a diversity candidate receive a HireVue for IBD? Seen two different posts claiming “mid-August” and Aug. 20th (today) invitation dates, but it doesn’t look like that’s panning out as of now.
Just received HireView invitation for IBD in Dallas. I attend a large southern state school, don't give up hope non-target applicants!!
