2019 Sophomore Summer Advice

Hey Guys,

I am currently a rising sophomore (semi-target, solid GPA) in the searching process for my sophomore summer internship. I've applied to every sophomore program but given I'm non-diversity, there is a severely slim chance with those programs. I am looking to get some advice at pursuing a sophomore IB internship, most likely at a small boutique. What networking methods have you guys used to get responses/interviews if you have been through this process, especially because many boutiques do not have traditional recruiting processes? Also if you have any tips about moving forward in this process anything would be greatly appreciated.

You're definitely ahead of the curve if you're looking this early - so kudos to you. I leveraged a connection from my school of business investment program to a local PE/Mezz fund. Definitely try to see if any alumni are running small boutiques and reach out using the "xyz college xyz major seeking advice." I've found that to be a good way to open a dialogue at a minimum.
