Seeing megadeals like Warner Bros with Discovery is interesting for me personally. However, dur to regulations striking a megadeal is not an easy task. But in general, merger (or acqusition) of a neobank with a traditional bank, or deal between traditional O&G company with renewables could be interesting ones. Recently heard about Netflix moving into the gaming area, seeing a possible acquisition (or merger) with a game studio could also be an interesting deal.

Nice one, specially the Netflix one. What kind of acquisition, one of the big developer like Activision/ EA or Ubisoft or a smaller studio ?

In the news it is written that they hired a developer from EA to run the new gaming initiative. The potential M&A I suppose will depend on the gaming strategy of Netflix. Will they enter market as Amazon entered the filming industry by leveraging their already existing subscribers' base, or will it compete as a separate business with just Netflix brand name? + it will depend on the type of games they plan to develop; if it is an open world RPG, then Ubisoft will be a nice target. I suppose they will acquire a smaller team of developers and simultaniously build their own gaming talent. However, the coolest one could be acquiring EA which also uses a lot of DLC, premium options in their games.

Do any firms want to merge? I can understand maybe a firm wanting to acquire another if it made sense but not sure which firm would want to sell/merge into another if it meant ceasing to exist effectively. Unless it’s like some start up cashing out maybe. Idk.

Alternatively you can try to look at major PE firms current portfolios and see which companies have been in there for like 5 years or so which may mean the PE firm may be looking to exit their position. Find a company like that and then identify a leading company in that industry. That leading company may be interested in merging/acquiring the PE port co and the PE port co may be interested in transferring ownership of its shares that the PE firm owns to the strategic competitor potentially
