You're not earning these CAD salaries in New York, dude. You've got more purchasing power making 105 CAD in Toronto than 105 USD in NYC.

Can confirm. TD has rapidly increased A&A salaries over the last 2 years

Anyone have insight on the Globals and how base / bonus differ? From my understanding, base is typically higher but bonus is lower as a % compared to the Big 6. Also - does base differ across the Globals? I saw Jefferies base was $135k for Toronto but I though Globals paid US salaries in CAD, i.e., $110k.

I don't know the levels for every global bank, but Analyst 1 base salaries for the global banks in Toronto are typically C$110 - 135k, and increase by C$10-15k per year - i.e. an AN2 would get C$120 - 150k base (while Canadian banks are flat $105k across all analyst years)

Bonus is generally around 80-100% of base, so around $200-220k all-in for An1 and $250-270k all-in for AN2

These kids are trying to be good enough for Toronto IB let alone finance jobs. Moving to the US has been the best decision I’ve ever made. I made $320K (20K vested) USD as a post MBA associate out of school. Had I gone to business school in Toronto they would’ve made me start as an analyst at 29. It’s so stupid. It also pains me seeing all these kids struggle because it’s not their fault, their socialist government fucked them, and these firms gate keep because they can.

Scotia is literally the 💩. Pay is one thing, they set this new rule that analyst can’t be promoted to associate unless being on the desk at least 2 years full time in S&T. You are also required to do 9mo rotation minimumly. So you are looking at 3Yr (cus promotion season isn’t til Aug) minimum as an analyst DOESNT MATTER how good you perform. And bonus is also 💩💩💩. So you are getting paid 95k like interns even tho many juniors are taking on huge responsibilities and perform extremely well. There, I said it 🤡 Source: my partner works there :)

TD Analyst IB base is C$100k first year, C$105k second year.

TD Associate IB base is C$135k first year, C$145k second year, C$155k third year.

BMO Associate IB base is C$135k for all three years.
