2025 SA IB ABS vs. RE

Hi I could really use some advice here -  incoming SA and will be in the team placement process soon. I'm eyeing ABS or real estate under DCM. Both teams are about the same size. I'm looking to exit into PEAM in a few years and career potential is very important to me.

Pros, cons, and concerns:

ABS: seems stable, diverse (I'm Asian), but heard that the work is repetitive

RE: traditional, stable, not very diverse. Is it true that if you join RE IB you would most likely be tangled up with RE for the rest of your career? I'm not sure if I want to sign up for that.

Any advice is appreciated!
