Recruiting acts in waves. First wave is generally who they feel best about but that doesn't mean the lead is totally dead for you.

If randoms on the internet are getting invites, that's likely noise. Different schools often have different timelines.

However, if people at your school are getting calls, that is signal.

Reach out to your best contact. "Very interested in continuing in the process with Moelis and look forward to participating in any next steps".

I've seen candidates get back into the process after first waves too.

From the banks perspective they're racing to secure the best candidates and usually those best candidates end up w multiple offers they turn down and then the banks scramble to the next wave and so on.
