6/19 Juneteenth Off / WFH
Do other firms have off for this upcoming Monday given the markets are closed and it’s a national holiday? Fully expect IB employees to be working on Monday (albeit at the very least WFH), but my boutique has people coming in office.
IDK what firm you work at, but I worked Christmas, thanksgiving, Memorial day, 5 hours on the 4th of July, Labor day, and New years eve. So yeah, Ill be working on "Monday"

Know it is often the unfortunate reality of working in IB to have to rip through these holidays for work but should not considered the “norm”. Finishing up my second year at a BB and the group culture has been strict around holiday weekends / vacation times and most juniors are not working during these times (I’ve only had to work 1 holiday weekend in 2 years and that was 8hrs of total work).
Posting for awareness that better work-life conditions in IB do exist…

I will be working like it’s a regular Monday. Tbh can’t even expect your white male corporate bosses to acknowledge Juneteenth as a federal holiday

Yeah I already am planning to work a normal day, just thought it would at least be a WFH and some observance of a holiday given the great DEI initiatives these firms prop up…

last year was the first official year of the holiday so guessing teams hadn't gotten the memo yet. A lot of firms are completely off

My firm is off for it, have 1 call for 30 min with client but asides that we are off
I'm at BofA and we have a three-day protected weekend (Saturday, Sunday, and Monday). This usually the case for these holidays.

yeap! People usually come with small luggage to the office day before as they are head out that night.
Work from home work day.
Every holiday at my bank is a “work from home if you have to work” day. Sometimes it’s a full work day, sometimes I don’t touch my laptop, just depends on the nature of the workload at that moment of time.
100% feel the same way. Nothing is truly, fully protected but seniors are usually not pushing bs work on Christmas or the like.
Was completely off today. Sad that the norm in this industry is to work on holidays
