A fascinating blog

http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/series/vo…

I apologize if this has been posted before. This series of articles details the lives of various workers in all sorts of different positions in finance.

What I found most interesting, however, is the comments section. The comments are pretty vicious (I believe The Guardian is quite left-wing), but they also reveal how little people understand about finance. Pretty much every job is lumped together in most people's minds as the cause of the financial crisis.

It makes one think that better explanations to the public of what goes on in banks and other financial firms would be very good for the industry. Obviously some of the dislike of financiers comes from envy of high salaries, but it seems to me that much more comes from people genuinely believing that M&A bankers caused the sub-prime crisis.
