What FIG groups are good
Does anyone have input on FIG groups. Everything I see online has too much variance. If anyone has experience pls pm.

depends what subsector of FIG, but generally Ardea, GS, JPM, Evercore come to mind
Specifically WM/AM
gs is the best at wealth m&a and definitely covers it most seriously. jpm focuses more on alts
lol at EVR
How’s WF FIG compared to these firms?
Much sleepier. Never expect lead and mb some club type role at most
WF insurance vertical is pretty good actually
It was unironically paradise (at least relative to other FIG) 1-2 years ago, now has gotten a little sweatier and culture a bit worse
Every single one (besides RBC, which is a toxic shithole). FIG is paradise.
MS is strong
can't speak for the group culture though
MS FIG was so lowly ranked in intern group preferences that they just made recruiting for the group an entirely separate process lol
Is this for London or NYC?
Haven't heard this for London yet.
Insurance Advisory Partners. Heard they have a fantastic culture and everyone stays
Had a friend who worked there (in U.S.).
Comp is below street and seems to have a horrible culture, stemming from seniors. Would not recommend from what I've heard...
I worked with both Moelis FIG and HL FIG. They have their strengths.
Namely Moelis FIG has good looks when it comes to FIG RX deals given strong restructuring practice. Depending on whichever MDs are currently at the firm, there is also some decent coverage of those MDs’ clients.
HL FIG also has some subvertical niches where they are strong. MM stuff obviously but have seen them do some smid-cap public work from time to time when one of their verticals has something going on in that space.
GS/JPM both top of the street. Large gap between them and 3rd place (MS)
Go to rbc FIG and you’ll love it trust me
Ardea and Fenchurch are good boutiques, especially within Insurance
Agreed femchurch London is sweatshop but good deal flow and comp
UBS FIG is gr8
best group at UBS!
How is DB fig nowadays? Are they decent? Would assume they’re mainly cap markets and rarely if ever lead on stuff
London/EMEA should be very decent...
Solid in EU insurance & banks. UK focus is basically nil, they fired a load of their Numis people who had existing UK relationships. From what I've heard, the team is basically EU focused but most of the EU FIG team sit in London. Similar to UBS wherein the European expats basically exclusively cover their home country from London (i.e. UBS and Italy)
In the US (no particular order): JPM, GS, Evercore, KBW (Banks / Depositaries)
In London: GS, Evercore, MS, JPM, UBS, Fenchurch, Continuum - Fenchurch & Continuum are strong in asset/wealth management and insurance in the mid-market, most of the other top BBs are solid at Banks & Insurance. CVP get on the odd large-cap, UBS, Citi and BofA are strong in continental EU banks
One thing to note is that the product coverage varies a lot in FIG. In asset & wealth / insurance, a lot of it is M&A dominated with significant PE interest. With banks, before the waves of M&A consolidation in Italy, Spain, Germany; it historically used to be more ECM / Cap Markets focused. My two cents are that you HAVE to have a strong public markets franchise as a FIG shop in UK/EU to even have a chance for M&A roles for Banks, as most Bank M&A is public takeovers atm.
How does GS MS and JPM vary in London rankings-wise (I am interviewing for one of the three)
