AC–Offer ratio
Please, could those of you who have been involved in carrying out London (BB) SA interviews chime in? How many final round / AC candidates do you find yourselves interviewing, on average, in relation to the number of SA spots to be filled?
From experience it’s around 1:5 once your at the AC stage.
Why is the ratio so low? Is it because of people declining offers or because 80% simply never do well enough?
Don't let the numbers trouble you too much. I have done assessments (and admittedly we have relatively small ACs - maybe it's different in ACs with 8 people or more) where everyone gets put through to the next round, and assessments where no one does. Perform your best on the day and don't worry about comparisons - you are judged independently (what that means, by the way, is to obviously make good points, but give your assessor something to say, e.g. s/he was the one who opened the discussion, s/he was the one who kept the group on track and reminded everyone about the deadline, s/he was the one who invited the quiet one to speak and share their views; don't be "generic" if you can help it)
Can second this based on my recent ACs. They are hiring 2 out of 9/10 candidates.
