Advice for graduating senior
Hi Everyone,
I currently attend a non-target school in the Northeast with a 3.5GPA. I have three internships on my resume which include investment banking my freshman year with a small boutique, consulting in Guatemala my sophomore year and most recently a buy-side internship on the equity research team.
I really don't want to do equity research because I'm really not interested in it at all. I hated the whole research process these guys have to go through and it just was not for me.
Ive been participating in FT recruiting since September but have had a hard time landing interviews. Most places are all full from their summer classes and its especially tough since I come from a non-target.
If you were in my shoes, where would you look for a FT job? Would you look to go to recruiters? I constantly search through LinkedIn and OneWire... Monster... all of those and most of the openings are for experienced hires only.
I'm a little lost in the process now since it's really hard to find campus recruiting spots for full time. I would love to go back to banking but honestly coming out of a non-target I would be happy with just about anything at this point.
If anyone here can just lead me in the right direction as to where all the undergrad recruiting jobs are then please reply. Most of the ones that I keep finding require a year of experience.
Thank you for your help.
Check Indeed.com. It's a job search aggregater, not a job board, so it will have jobs from all over the place. If I were you, I would start reaching out to boutiques. FT is pretty much done, but many boutiques will still have openings or may not have started yet.
Thank's for the advice. I have focused in on boutiques and "international" banks but a lot of firms just simply don't have analyst programs or yet once again are full already.
I'll go on Indeed and see what I get from there. I tried using my career services but they just try and sell me the "insurance" life style since that's where most kids go from my school. I'm not interested in selling insurance.....
