Advice needed: no finance experience

Hey all,

Looking for advice so I can best manage my expectations.

Currently, a Sophomore and I just transferred to a target for the spring, but had a very high GPA at my last school.

I have no finance experience and I was considering taking an extra semester so I'd have a second chance at recruiting & I'd be really prepared to get an internship.

What do I do from here? If I try to recruit this summer, can I get an IB job at an MM or BB

I'd say I don't really feel confident about what banking is and I was hoping I'd have more experience before I start applying in the summer. At the same time, I don't wanna extend graduation just for the sake of a better job when I have a long career ahead of me. It's not that I don't understand the industry, I just don't have first-hand experience to speak from.

If I do have a great shot at landing a MM offer then I'd likely not extend graduation (it's always possible to lateral right)?

Thanks
