Already Signed a BB SA Offer, Is It Risky to Keep Interviewing?

I recently received and have already signed a summer analyst offer from a top-tier BB.

However, I recently received a couple of new interviews, including with another top-tier BB that arguably has an even stronger global brand name (think JPM, MS, GS) that I may prefer over my current offer. Some of these processes were already underway before I received and signed my current offer.

Would it be considered poor form or genuinely risky to continue interviewing after I have already signed, especially if one of the remaining opportunities is somewhere I would potentially choose over my current offer?

For people who have been in a similar situation, did you withdraw from every other process immediately after signing, or did you continue interviewing and only make a decision if another offer actually came through?

Also curious how serious the reputational risk is, and whether banks would realistically find out if you continue interviewing at other firms.

I'm thinking about three options right now:

  1. Applying full-time for JPM/MS/GS after doing a summer internship in my current bank.
  2. Get the return offer, do 1 year in that BB, and then try to transition into the top 3 banks after being a y1 analyst. Do 1 year in one of the top 3 banks, and then transition into PE.
  3. Just do 2 years at my current BB and try to get into PE.

I'm just uncertain whether my current BB would offer the same level of exit opportunities as JPM/MS/GS...

Appreciate your help.

Assume you have BofA/Citi as you’re aiming for GS/JP/MS. If not ignore the below, stay the one you’re at, the difference is not big enough to warrant the risk.

I’d say go for it. It is not in the interest of the company interviewing you to somehow mess with your offer, as it would reflect very badly on them.

Just be discreet where you can, don’t discuss it with anyone and continue comms with your current bank as if nothing is happening.

All fine, just be moderately careful.

Unfortunately, I saw your comment too late; I ended up withdrawing my JPM/MS/GS interviews.

Definitely second guessing it a bit now...

So the option now is to just do the internship and perhaps consider applying for full time analyst after summer?

Im in no position to answer the question, but I would think that having an RO and then applying for a role would be beneficial in the sense that they 1) see that you're clearly capable, 2) have an option to fall back but have actively chosen to interview for the other firm, which implies that you're highly interested.
