Am I being 'waitlisted' for a SA offer ??

Hi guys, I had a final round interview with one of the major banks in Toronto last Friday. One of the directors called me yesterday saying they cannot give me an offer for summer now but I was ranked pretty close to the cut-off, so he asked me to give him a call later this week to see if anyone quit or drop the offer. That was my only final round.

Does it sound like I am being 'wait-listed'? How should I handle in this situation? I'm cold calling some boutiques now but no success yet...

I only got his email address, no phone number...here's my email, welcome any constructive comments:

'Hi XXX,

Hope your week has been good.

I'd like to let you know that I'm still interested in a summer analyst position at XXX. I got some prospects from the boutique firms but XXX is still my top choice. I'd like to be considered if any vacancy comes up in the future. A copy of my updated resume is attached in case you no longer keep the hard copy.

Have a great weekend!'
