Am I cooked? SA recruiting

Been seeing a good number of posts about ppls inability to convert either on r1/sd.

I genuinely want to bank and haven't even got a single look other than at HFs. Where am I going wrong?

Here's some context about me:

Cons: non-target, non-diversity

Pros: high gpa, worked at t10 AM last year, and working at MF this upcoming summer (apo/blk/kkr), I'm president/high leadership in 3 of the "prestigious" finance clubs on campus, have done research w/prof freshman year, founded my own company (not that sneaker reselling bs), and do come from a pretty unique background and I'm sure I could continue the self-glaze but you get the point.

To reiterate, I just wanna bank. I got an RO at AM last year and naturally am very happy with what I'm doing this summer (apo/blk/kkr), but I want to bank > working at AM/MF rn (assuming I would get an RO this summer).

My networking: Honestly, thus far the only bank I wanted to work at that I have got an official rejection from was jpm, and it hurts (2 md refs). I put the bulk of my networking with 6 banks (3bb/3eb) which are somewhat unrealistic from my school but know I have had good conversations/connections. Talked with ~8ppl at 1 of those EBs, haven't heard anything other than that I'm probably cooked. At another, connected with various ppl including an SMD who put me in contact with head of recruiting, they said they are targeting mid-feb for SD, but I've been seeing kids post acceptances. At another EB I have great relationship with a2 where I was their only referral, and who part of recruiting process. Most ppl at BBs don't respond to me, and I'm honestly probably cooked at my 2 top bulges as I've only got to speak to a few ppl at each but nailed the Hirevues.

My mistakes: I value transparency and honestly have made a couple mistakes, and I'm fine to admit those given the nature of this stupid forum but also would like to hear feedback from others.

I am an entitled guy when it comes to deciding what I will do with my future but have physical proof that what I'm doing has worked in getting other very competitive roles.

1st mistake: I really limited myself in terms of the applications that I submitted. I only applied to 25 banks (All BBs, most EBs exc. Q/FT/Liontree, and some of the better MM banks).

2nd mistake: I could have networked a bit more. I see kids putting up crazy numbers in terms of the amount of people that they are reaching out to, and I definitely am not even close to that. However, the connections that I do have are strong. I will continue to try and lay the hammer down over these next couple weeks with new people.

3rd mistake: The example that I think of here is when I was applying to college and thought I would be qualified for the best programs at Ivys/t10 ug business programs and didn't apply as a classics major or something. For BBs, I applied to pretty sexy groups only in nyc, and only nyc for EBs (only generalist programs). Similar to college admissions, I should've learned my lesson and applied to the groups that might be more looked over at those BBs where I still found the work interesting.

I'm open to any and all feedback/context. Am I cooked?

Well it’s not over yet per se, banks are wrapping up recruiting for targets and semi-targets with dedicated recruiting teams and I pretty sure non-target recruiting is much less structured and happens after. And there’s always off-cycle recruiting if you’re dead set on it. Keep prepping for potential interviews and if the outcome is not what you hoped then wait a few weeks, and start networking again for off cycle.

At the end of the day, it’s just about how badly you want it

Dude your resume is stacked. If you want it bad enough you can get a banking offer. It’s not really an if you can question but more-so a how willing are you to grind for it question.
