Am I tied to Grad Program?

Started as a An1 recently at a large BB, for lack of better words the group I am in is not at all where I would like to be. I am very thankful to have a return offer and a job given this market. However I would like to switch groups, I was told that since I'm in the grad program the earliest that can happen is in 2 years. Has anyone done this earlier? Or Is this a move I would have to go externally for?

For context the group is extremely niche, no modeling skills needed and more admin type work but still IB

You can leave whenever you want. A firm does not want to hire someone who doesn't want to be there.

Just leave after your probation (3-6 months depending on firm), otherwise you have to pay back signing bonus.

You mention in your own post that your firm’s policy is that you can’t transfer internally prior to 2 years. Do you suppose random people on an internet forum are going to supersede that for you? Confused as to what exactly you’re asking.
