Amherst and Williams (and NESCAC) Networking

I attend A/W and I know both schools have insanely strong alumni networks. The question is, if I reach out to people from the opposite school, would they be willing to pull for me?

Based on the most helpful WSO content, Amherst and Williams both have strong alumni networks, and the NESCAC schools in general are known for their tight-knit communities. While alumni from your own school are likely to be your primary supporters, reaching out to alumni from other NESCAC schools, including Amherst or Williams, can still be effective. These schools share a similar culture and reputation, which often fosters a sense of camaraderie among graduates.

However, the level of support you receive may vary depending on the individual and their willingness to help. To maximize your chances, approach them professionally, highlight shared experiences (such as being part of the NESCAC community), and show genuine interest in their career path. Networking across NESCAC schools can be a valuable strategy, especially since these schools are well-regarded in finance and other competitive industries.
