Amount of EFFORT required for IB??

So I am a rising Sophomore at a top 20 university in the US and want to know how much effort you guys put in to prepare for recruiting season. Meaning, how many hours a day did you study, network, read, etc?

For me, I study around 3-5 hours a day, combined with learning technicals, and behaviorals, reading the news, doing a BIWS course, listening to finance podcasts, and networking on top of working a full-time summer internship

Also, don't tell me to touch grass, I know I don't have a life but I don't mind, I enjoy studying lmao.

When you say "Amount of Effort" it makes it sound like you want to do the most minimal as possible. Horrible way to think about it. Do you really like the things you'd do or are you just going for the clout? Like seriously, if you're just here because everyone is looking at you funny, go save your orcas, or whatever you really want to do.

Read up on technicals, buy Wallstreet Prep, just a investing fund at your school and get internships. If you actually like this stuff go forward, and if you don't well hey atleast you know what you don't want to do. If learning about deal structures doesn't ~tantalize~ your taste buds & is a slog, do something else. Getting into IB is one of two things:

A. You study like a test, you quizlet everything, and you take your technicals like the SAT (5+ hrs a day)

B. You actually enjoy learning about these things and it isn't a question of effort, its a game and you're learning the rules. In which case I can recommend an excessive amount of materials for you to use. Note you should still start with the technical prep guides because recruiting is crazy and you need to know that stuff solid. (Whenever you're free)

Be ambitious for yourself, don't do it because all of your Georgetown classmates are going into banking. And if I see you start talking on CS forms I will be very sad.

Always here to help!
